The Epicurean became home to some of the most unforgettable Greek weddings!
This season, The Epicurean became home to some of the most unforgettable Greek weddings we’ve ever had the privilege of being part of.
And honestly — there is nothing quite like a Greek celebration.
The music is louder. The hugs last longer. The dance floor fills faster. There’s an energy to it that can’t be manufactured — a deep sense of family, legacy and joy woven into every part of the day.
For us at The Epicurean Red Hill, these weddings feel especially meaningful. Cassandra’s Greek heritage brings a personal understanding to the traditions, emotion and hospitality that sit at the heart of these celebrations. It’s something we don’t just admire from the outside — it’s something we genuinely understand and hold with deep respect.
Many of our couples begin their day at Panagia Kamariani, the beautiful Greek Orthodox church tucked into the Red Hill landscape. Through our close relationship with the church and priest, we’re able to guide couples through the process seamlessly, helping honour tradition while creating a day that still feels entirely personal.
The ceremony itself is always powerful.
The stefana crowns placed gently upon the couple’s heads. The joining of hands. The ceremonial walk around the altar as family watches on. It’s sacred, grounding and filled with centuries of meaning.
And then… the celebration begins.
As guests arrive at The Epicurean, the energy naturally shifts into something vibrant, abundant and alive. Long tables quickly fill with shared plates, flowing wine and conversations crossing from one end of the room to the other. Greek weddings have a rhythm all of their own — less structured, more immersive. Guests move, dance, toast, eat, dance again.
And yes — we allow plate smashing.
Because some traditions simply deserve to be celebrated properly.
There’s something unforgettable about the moment the music lifts, the dance circle forms and plates begin smashing while everyone cheers around them. It’s joyful chaos in the very best way. A release. A celebration of life, love and togetherness.
What we love most about these weddings is that they never feel performative. They’re emotional, loud, generous and deeply connected. Grandparents dancing beside cousins. Children weaving through the dance floor. Guests staying hours longer than expected because no one wants the night to end.
At The Epicurean, these celebrations feel completely at home.
The space was made for long-table dining, warm hospitality and celebrations that unfold naturally over hours rather than moments. It allows Greek weddings to feel elevated while still holding onto the relaxed, family-centred energy that makes them so special.
This season reminded us why we love them so much.
They’re not just weddings.
They’re gatherings of generations.
A celebration of heritage.
A feast. A dance. A feeling..
